What is the contravsory over seal hunting about?

Most folks do not find subsistence hunting to be an issue, which is the case with most adult seals that are hunted.

However, many people find the annual baby fur seal hunt to be appalling. The baby seals are clubbed to death to avoid damaging the pelt. The carcasses are wasted; they are not used for food. This is slaughter exclusively for fashion. It is unnecessary and inhumane, in my opinion. What is the contravsory over seal hunting about?
It's about people killing seals just for the sake of it.

It's not the inuit that they're blaming. Its the people who beat seals with clubs and make them bleed to death and enjoy watching them suffer. It's animal rights , and killing the seals as a ';sport'; is barbaric. People have no right to do that, especially iin a way that is so inhumane and cruel like hitting them over the head with clubs. If you google it, you'll find some imges that are utterly horrific, and then you'll figure out why. What is the contravsory over seal hunting about?
Club sandwiches, not seals.

They're becoming endangered because the offspring are being killed. That's the entire controversy for you.
Animal right groups are anti-hunting. Even to the point of denying people that hunt for the food they eat. How right is it to deny the Inuit their right to hunt for food?

Correctly spelled it is ';controversy';.
The inhumane way in which the seals are killed. They are beathen to death with clubs that have spikes on them. Then they are skinned. Sometimes the seals aren't dead yet before the skinning. It's horrific! All in the name of fashion. The Canadian government conducts baby seal hunts annually. The Humane Society of the United States does a lot to protect them.
