Is it true in California rifle hunting on public land has been banned?

Hunting on public land deemed a national park is illegal but not on state or federally owned land in general. If this were the case I would have heard about it or someone complaining about it.

People hunt in our national forests and that is legal. Although some areas you can't hunt or plink. Just be sure to pick up your mess. That gives the anti's a valids reason to complain, the area gets trashed. They tried to do that with an area around where I go plink. Is it true in California rifle hunting on public land has been banned?
I'm not in California, but from the sound of it the state might have limited hunting and other access to some lands because of fire danger. With as dry as the state has been, and with the current rash of fires that is an option. There are areas around here (north Idaho, eastern Washington, western Montana) that are pretty dry too,not dry enough to limit access, but getting close. Is it true in California rifle hunting on public land has been banned?
not as far as i have heard. public land being national forests. I have been hunting public land for years in california. you can check if certain public land is off limits with the department of fish and game. sometimes after fires than such they do close national forests to hunting.
All people want to do is ban guns and hunting. Cause guns and hunting cause violence. WRONG!!!!!!! Guns and hunting teach discipline and proper use for guns. As far as my sources at the NRA have told me there is no ban in california.
I am surprised all guns bb/pellet and water guns are not banned yet! Why don't the people vote out those nuts in government.
Sorry but Cali blows.
