Does anyone know what the most intelligent hunting dog is?

The Curly Coated Retriever. Most hunting breeds are smart, but they show their intelligence in different ways. A Bloodhound is unlikely to retrieve. A retriever will not naturally follow a trail. Duck Tolling Retrievers were bred to lure in ducks, a Beagle couldn't care less about them. Hounds were bred to think for themselves and solve problems, retrieving and pointing breeds were developed to be eager to please humans. It all depends what job you want the dog to do. Find a dog that was created for that purpose and you will have the most intelligent hunting dog.Does anyone know what the most intelligent hunting dog is?
Believe it or not, beagles are fantastic hunting dogs. If you're looking to get a hunting dog, i suggest adopting a beagle. Beagles have the highest abandon rate due to people try to buy them for indoor companions and not giving them enough exercise. They claim their too hyper and can't control them, then they end up in shelters.

Beagles are excellent dogs, if you give them what they need. Tons of exercise and catering to their natural amazing hunting skills.Does anyone know what the most intelligent hunting dog is?
It depends on what you want it to do. Flush game? Retrieve? Track game?

There are lots of types of hunting dogs and each has a specific purpose. It depends on what you want it to do.
Depends on what you are hunting and what you want the dog to do.

For upland game birds I personally like the Weimaraners best.

But since I own and train them I am partial to them.
I don't know, but I know for sure it is NOT the Treeing Walker Coonhound! Mine practically passes out at the sight of blood and is terrified of loud noises. Methinks that may be why he ended up at a pound.
