How do you make a homemade traditional hunting bow.?

I am interested in making a composite bow. I used to make one piece bows when I was young, that worked well. I have looked for good resources to learn more, but only get snippets.

get a long log get a chisel carve it into the shape you want then just kind of shave it down to the exact way you want it. i cant remember what the thing i have to shave stuff with is. its like a metal block with steel teeth on the bottom. oh well ill remember after i publish this
